Apple Now More Profitable than Microsoft

First Apple surpassed Microsoft in market capitalization last May, and has a market cap more than $100 billion greater than Microsoft’s. Then, two quarters ago, Apple brought in more quarterly revenue than Microsoft in more than a decade. Now, Apple has beat Microsoft in quarterly profit. Samsung Now Countersuing Apple in U.S.

Bloomberg is reporting that Samsung, who has brought a countersuit against Apple, has expanded said suit to the U.S. Prior to today, Samsung had filed patent infringement suits against Apple only internationally. Samsung is claiming that ten of their patents are being infringed upon. Seven of which regard communications standards, and the remaining three involve user interface design.

Report Claims Apple Purchased iCloud.com Domain for $4.5 Million

GigaOM is reporting that Apple has purchased iCloud.com for $4.5 million, from Xcerion, an online storage company, but has since rebranded their service to CloudMe. The domain still redirects to CloudMe.com at this time. Here’s an excerpt from the report: My source, who is familiar with the company, says that Xcerion has sold the domain to Apple for about $4.5 million. Xcerion hasn’t responded to my queries as yet. At the time of writing, the Whois database showed Xcerion as the owner of iCloud. This news has surfaced only weeks after a another report claimed that Apple has completed the server backend work on their rumored, cloud-based music storage service. Yes, you can Jailbreak the white iPhone 4

We’re answering the questions we’re getting most often, so bear with us while we let everyone no that yes indeed, you can Jailbreak the white iPhone 4 — it’s still an iPhone 4 on current(ish) firmware after all. Given that iPad 2 still isn’t Jailbroken, it’s a fair question to ask, so I put it to the test. My white iPhone 4 shipped with iOS 4.3.1 and I had no trouble jailbreaking either that or 4.3.2 once I updated. I don’t have CDMA here, so I can’t test the Verizon iPhone on 4.2.7, but if you’ve had luck with that, let us know.
